The initiative is a collaboration between <a href="https://www.microsoft.com/">Microsoft</a>, <a href="https://openai.com/">OpenAI</a>, <a href="https://group.softbank/en/">SoftBank</a>, and <a href="https://www.oracle.com/">Oracle</a> to build a series of massive AI supercomputers and data centers.</p> <p>Originally reported as a Microsoft-OpenAI effort, the project was expanded in January 2025 to include SoftBank&rsquo;s Vision Fund and Oracle as major partners. The partnership combines OpenAI&rsquo;s AI expertise, Microsoft&rsquo;s cloud infrastructure and enterprise reach, SoftBank&rsquo;s capital and global networks, and Oracle&rsquo;s database and enterprise technology capabilities.</p>
